Journey Through Advent

An invitation to join us in-person or through
a shared Meditation

Creator of the Stars of Night

note: this event has passed, but we keep this description available as a glimpse into the types of experiences we offer. And thank you to all who joined us for the Advent Communal Meal.

If you’d like a copy of our 2023 Advent Meditation, you can find that here.

———————

As we inaugurate another liturgical year, we begin with the season of Advent. It’s a time when we welcome the joy, wonder, and mystery of the Incarnation of Jesus as we hold suffering, promise, faith, and hope together.

To assist our spiritual engagement with the weeks of Advent and Christmas Day, we’re offering both an in-person gathering and a weekly meditation.

Advent Communal Meal
First, you are invited to join us on Saturday December 2, 6:30-8:30pm when we’ll host an Advent Communal Meal, which means everyone is invited to participate with an edible contribution. We’ll provide a main course, so if you feel inclined to bring a side, dessert, or beverage we welcome that! Let us know that you’ll be joining us by completing the form below.

Advent Meditations
In addition to the communal meal, we’ve also developed a set of weekly Advent meditations that we’d like to share. These mediations use the verses of a 9th century Latin hymn as a foundation for contemplating our greatest need and the light Jesus brought to our darkness. (hymn history, hymn audio). Along with the hymn, these meditations offer scripture and prompts for reflection and prayer. You can receive a digital copy of these mediations, delivered via email, the week before the first Sunday of Advent (December 3) by completing the form below.

We hope you can join us on a journey through Advent, whether for the meal, in Spirit through the meditations,
or both!
